The first 30 days

Things I've learned in the first 30 days of having a baby:

1. Poop stains clothing.

2. The ruffles on the diapers must be facing out to prevent leakage. See #1.

3. The weight on the diaper box is not how much poop a diaper can hold.

4. If Mitch is fussy his diaper is probably dirty. If the diaper isn't dirty he's probably hungry. If he's still fussy but he refuses to eat it's because he's dirtied his diaper since you checked it 5 minutes ago. If the diaper is still not dirty and he is still fussy it's because he's hungry now.

5. It's always time to burp Mitch.

6. A good burp from Mitch makes me feel happy too.

7. The pacifier, don't leave home without it.

8. The rumble that accompanies a bowel movement is like a sneeze, usually traveling in pairs. If you open the diaper after the first one you will also be changing the changing table's cover and possibly your clothes.

9. When changing a diaper on a boy they should always be considered armed and dangerous, ready to go off at any second.

10. The car seat is like Valium.

11. Even though he doesn't do much besides eat, sleep, poop and cry I am constantly in awe of him.

Enjoy some of the pictures from the first 30 days.
