Not much of an update, but I gotta go to bed.

Stevie began discovering her feet about two weeks ago. Since then she has been able to get them up to her mouth easily which then led to attempts to roll over. Today, for the first time, she rolled onto her right side and then onto her belly. The look on her face was one of accomplishment and excitement. We're so proud.

Mommy and Stevie

While reviewing pictures and the blog from the last two months I realized there is only one picture of Mommy and Stevie. There aren't many, here are two.

A little update

Hi all. Just a short note to let you know how the Kings are. Stevie is, of course, ruling the house these days. I'm trying to figure out her nap schedule now but as for nighttime sleep she is way ahead of the curve sleeping anywhere from 5-8 hours in a row. WOW! Mitch's vocabulary has blossomed and I think today he said "Why?" several times. Is that possible? Last week the word of the week was "No, no, no!" Rich and I are in disbelief how awesome our kids are.

Stevie meets Aunt Kristin for the first time.
Brodie loves Stevie...or he wants the chair.
Mitch and daddy do "play time" as Mitch would say.

Stevie's first month

I have one hand free and so will keep this brief.

It's been a fast month. We've felt so loved with all the support that we have been given. Stevie is thriving. Mitch is becoming a very helpful big brother while at the same time continuing to show us that he is an autonomous being. Mommy has been discharged from the nut house and is adjusting to all the changes. Daddy is glad to be back at work where it is less chaotic.

Much love.

So far in April

Even though there are a few days left in April I am going to post some stuff so that we can share what a fun month it has been so far. We have moved up to weekly doctor's appointments until Stevie's arrival and recently had a serious of ultrasound measurements done to make sure everything is looking good. (Niki's external measurements were a little small and so the doctor wanted more tests.) The ultrasound measurements put her due date at May 9th, though the OB/GYN says that we will stick with our projected due date of May 6th.We had a bit of a scare last week when Niki experienced prodromal labor symptoms. With contractions consistently five minutes apart and severe back pain it looked like Stevie was coming three weeks early. However the contractions stayed five minutes apart and there was no progress in dilation or effacement. The contractions continued for the next day or so, and the back pain for about five days. Niki is back to feeling as comfortable as can be expected and we're back on for May 6th.

We received a great photo of Brodie enjoying a gift we sent him home with. Look at the little man cruise!

Mitchell started Montessori preschool this month and really enjoys "working" on playing with airplanes, coloring with crayons, and being outside.

When Mitchell is at home we get in a lot of drawing/coloring time too. Here are some of his recent pieces.

Mitchell plays a lot with with his planes and helicopters these day...A LOT...but here he took a break from those to create a line of cars doing wheelies. He was quite proud.

Here Mitchell plays with a helicopter attached to a bucket

Mitchell is earning his keep these days...helping with car washing...

And helping daddy put together furniture...

And of course we have spent some time just being cute. Here we go for bike ride with Daddy...

There's more to follow soon.

One exciting March

March was a very special month for us. We had a chance to share some of our inclement weather with Aunt Kristin, Uncle Matt and Cousin Brodie. This was taken just before being pelted by rain and hail. The little guys got some great one on one time with the grown-ups...

And with each other...

Our friend Melanie coordinated a surprise Baby Shower for us (surprise for Niki, everyone else knew). We had a great group of friends and family there and the gifts were so generous. Lots and lots of cute clothes, gift certificate, closet accessories, nursing items, blankets, hair accessories, rattles, a swing and bouncy chair just to name some. Mitchell received a few big brother presents including the Police helicopter above, the train blanket below, some bubbles, side walk chalk, and his very first camera (a toy Elmo edition).

Unfortunately we didn't get pictures of everybody but here are some of the lovelies that joined us that day...
Our neighbors Randie, Paul and Theresa
And our dear friends Tiffany and Noelle.

Ama and Apa stopped by for a visit too and got to work preparing the swing and bouncy chair. And of course they put in some cuddle time too.

And then we spent the rest of the month being cute.Much love.
